Atelier Artist, a Haitian arts group, launches a monthlong residency in Brooklyn featuring artist Riva Nyri Précil with live performances and community programming.

The 2026 season opens on June 4, with Sheila E., joined by funk rocker Leon Knight and internationally recognized DJ Spinna.

After a fire destroyed its home base in Red Hook, the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition returns with an exhibition at Powerhouse Arts.

Scheduled performers include Al Di Meola, John Scofield, Bill Frisell, Mike Stern, Vernon Reid of Living Colour, Alex Skolnick of Testament, Eric Gales, Joel Harrison, Jackie Venson, Greg Koch, Andy McKee, Adam Rogers and Ally Venable.

"Sounds That Move," a three-day music festival on Scott Avenue, will feature five stages with live music, panels and workshops.

Events are planned for Herbert Von King Park and Brooklyn Bridge Park.

A free Mother’s Day weekend festival in Downtown Brooklyn features a flower bar, live performances, art activities and family programming at City Point and Albee Square Plaza.

The Billie Holiday Theatre hosts a one-night program marking Malcolm X and Lorraine Hansberry’s shared birthday with short plays and live music.
