A man was taken into custody after a teen congregant was slashed inside a synagogue in Brooklyn on Monday.

A quiet, treelined block in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn was disrupted Monday morning when police and forensic teams descended on an apartment building where a 59-year-old woman was found dead inside her first floor apartment.

Two men were fatally shot inside a playground in Brooklyn Friday night, police said.

Police say it happened on Nostrand Avenue at 3:48am.

Police identified the teen as Jayden Velasquez, of Brooklyn. Friends affectionately called him “Gekko” and said he was well known around the neighborhood.

According to the NYPD, the victim and another woman were involved in an argument that turned violent. It happened just before 9:30am.
