Brooklyn Org, the nonprofit behind some of the borough’s most impactful community investments, has received a $10,000 donation from TerraCRG.
TerraCRG is a commercial real estate brokerage known for deep local roots in the borough.
The firm raised the funds during its annual Only Brooklyn real estate conference, held May 29 at BRIC Arts Media in Downtown Brooklyn. The $10,000 donation represents 100% of the event’s net proceeds.
"We are deeply grateful to TerraCRG for their commitment to the Brooklyn community and for supporting Brooklyn Org’s mission of creating a borough where everyone has the opportunity to thrive," said Dr. Jocelynne Rainey, president and chief executive officer of Brooklyn Org.
The funds will help fuel Brooklyn Org’s ongoing work in affordable housing, job creation, civic engagement and more. The nonprofit recently launched a microgrants program to support small community-based organizations and is rolling out its Brooklyn Backs Brooklyn campaign, an ambitious plan to boost grantmaking by 25% in response to rising economic challenges and cuts to federal funding.
“Brooklyn Org’s mission aligns with ours in creating lasting impact in the borough, and we’re proud to support their efforts,” said Dan Marks, chief executive officer of TerraCRG.
Last year alone, Brooklyn Org moved more than $19.5 million to local nonprofits through grants and donor-advised funds. Since its founding in 2009, the organization has channeled over $130 million into the borough, proving that when Brooklyn backs Brooklyn, real change happens.
