Celebrate Pride with a night of film, community and storytelling at Queerly Beloved: Pride Shorts in the Park, an outdoor screening that highlights LGBTQIA+ experiences from around the world on June 25.
The event kicks off in Fort Greene Park, with the lawn opening at 7:00pm and films beginning at sunset around 8:45pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket, yoga mat or folding chair for seating. Entry is free, and seating is first come, first served. RSVP is encouraged but not required.
Before the screening, the Walt Whitman Library will host a pop-up station featuring LGBTQIA+ books, graphic novels, and DVDs available for checkout. Guests can also sign up for a library card on site. The Fort Greene Park Conservancy will offer more than 100 free queer-themed books, donated by Berkley Books, HTP Books, Simon & Schuster and Sourcebooks.
Presented in partnership with Rooftop Films, the event will conclude with a brief Q&A featuring some of the filmmakers. English subtitles will be provided for international selections.
