Authorities say a man is dead and a woman in stable condition after a police chase turned into a police-involved shooting Thursday afternoon in Crown Heights. Detectives say a child was in the backseat of the vehicle involved in the chase. NYPD sources say it was a 3-year-old girl. Detectives say it all began around 3:00pm when officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation near the Whitman Houses. A witness told officers that the vehicle had an out-of-state license plate.
