Six months after school shuttered amid the surging COVID-19 pandemic, the first wave of New York City public school students trickled back to their buildings Monday.
In-person school was delayed for most of the 500,000-plus kids signed up for face-to-face instruction in a bombshell eleventh-hour decision last Thursday. But buildings opened as scheduled for preschoolers and District 75 schools for students with complex disabilities.
