As temperatures in New York City finally begin to rise, Brooklyn residents are still feeling the effects of a winter storm that left behind record snowfall.

Williamsburg recorded 12 inches of snow, while Crown Heights saw around 8 inches between Jan. 25 and Jan. 26. Twenty-five New Yorkers have died, including 18 people outdoors and seven in private residences.

In the two weeks since, Brooklyn residents noted their displeasure about the small pathways, ice at night, the dirty snow mounds, and power outages as they worried about New Yorkers with disabilities and the homeless.

“If you live in a comfortable home that’s heated, be happy. Be blessed about it," said East Flatbush resident Pierre Moreau.
