Christmas has come and gone and soon it's time to take down those decorations — and now what to do to with the tree?

Brooklynites can join NYC Parks to recycle their Christmas trees into wood chips through Mulchfest.

With 24 drop-off sites in Brooklyn, residents can drop off their trees now through Jan. 11.

Below is a list of all chipping sites in Brooklyn — mulch is available at the chipping sites marked with an asterisk (*):

The New York City Department of Sanitation will collect Christmas trees on regularly scheduled recycling days, which occur weekly. Find out the correct day here.

Brooklynites should remove all tree stands, tinsel, lights and ornaments from the trees before they are put out for collection. Clean, non-bagged Christmas trees left on the curb will be chipped, mixed with leaves and recycled into rich compost for the city's parks, institutions and community gardens.

Artificial trees can be set out as garbage on your regular collection day. Remove the metal pole and base if possible and set out with your recycling.
