June is Immigrant Heritage Month. Brooklyn Public Library and Apple Bank are celebrating with a series of free events to recognize and celebrate the diverse groups of people who call Brooklyn home.

Haitian Creole Musical Story Hour with Jaden Timoun

Enjoy an hour of music and storytelling with Jaden Timoun, an organization celebrating Haiti and the Haitian Creole language through interactive learning.
Color Your World: Chinese Ribbon Dance

Learn how to express yourself through colorful ribbons, blending movement, music and creativity.
Calpulli Mexican Dance Company
Saturday, June 14, at 1:00pm | Arlington Library, 203 Arlington Ave.
Enjoy a performance from the students in the Calpulli Community who will present traditional dance and music of Mexico.
Music Singing and Dancing with Chinese Theater Works
Saturday, June 21, at 1:00pm | Kings Highway Library, 2115 Ocean Ave.
Stop by for a lively performance of singing, dancing and music with Chinese Theater Works, a New York-based performance group devoted to preserving traditional Chinese arts and fostering understanding of Chinese culture.
Recipe Swap with Chef Nadège Fleurimond

Bring a favorite recipe from your heritage to discuss with the group. Haitian Chef Fleurimond will share her favorite too and demonstrate how to cook it along with recipe-writing tips. Please RSVP here.
