The Brooklyn Museum appointed Michael Field and Amanda Waldron as co-chairs of Board of Trustees.

The Brooklyn Museum has named Michael Field and Amanda Waldron as co-chairs of its 56-member Board of Trustees, effective July 1.

Field and Waldron will succeed Board Chair Barbara Vogelstein, who has led the board since 2016. In their new roles, they will work with museum leadership and trustees on strategic planning, fundraising, advocacy and long-term institutional priorities.

The transition comes as the museum begins planning for its next chapter following its 200th anniversary celebration and continues efforts to expand access to its collections, exhibitions and educational programs.

“I have no doubt that Amanda and Michael will lead the Brooklyn Museum into a new era of growth and impact, building on the extraordinary foundation Barbara has established throughout her tenure,” said Anne Pasternak, Shelby White and Leon Levy Director of the Brooklyn Museum.

During Vogelstein's tenure, the museum doubled its endowment and completed nearly $100 million in infrastructure improvements. Major projects included the renovation of the Arts of Asia galleries in 2022 and the opening of the Toby Devan Lewis Education Center in 2024. The museum also marked its bicentennial during the 2024-25 season.

Waldron joined the Board of Trustees in 2017 and most recently served as co-chair of the Advancement and Advocacy Committee. She also helped lead planning for the museum's 200th anniversary celebration.

Field joined the board in 2022 and most recently served as co-chair of the Building Committee. He is the founder of Field Real Estate Holdings and has served on the boards of several cultural and nonprofit organizations.

Waldron is a private equity investor focused on the healthcare industry. She previously worked at MSD Capital, TA Associates and Goldman Sachs and serves on several educational, cultural and healthcare-related boards and advisory groups.
