The index is based on the proportion of minority students enrolled, excluding international students, using data from the fall 2023 undergraduate student body.
The U.S. News & World Report rankings, now in their 40th year, evaluate nearly 1,500 colleges and universities across the United States on 17 measures of academic quality, with a particular focus on social mobility, student outcomes and affordability. The rankings are intended to guide prospective students and their families by offering comparative data on factors such as graduation rates, student debt, and post-graduation earnings.
Brooklyn College’s recent accolades also include being named to Forbes’ “Colleges With the Highest Payoff” list and inclusion in The Princeton Review’s Best 390 Colleges for 2025.
