This year's Brooklyn Community Foundation's Brooklyn Changemakers Ball will honor Congressman Hakeem Jeffries for his continuous social and economic justice advocacy.
Rep. Jeffries was born in Brooklyn Hospital and raised in Crown Heights. The democratic leader graduated from New York City’s public school system, after attending Midwood High School.
Rep. Jeffries is currently in his sixth term in Congress representing Brooklyn's Eighth Congressional District. He is the highest-ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives, unanimously elected by his colleagues last November. In Congress, Rep. Jeffries has worked hard to advocate for criminal justice reform, economic improvements for everyday Americans and access to affordable healthcare. He currently lives in Prospect Heights with his family.
Jeffries will be honored alongside Gabriel Schwartz and Jolie Curtsinger Schwartz during this inspiring and unforgettable night of celebration.
The Brooklyn Changemakers Ball takes place on Oct. 12. The event will begin at 6:30pm. Tickets and tables are availble for purchase here.
