An affordable housing lottery in Fort Greene has launched.
Located at 142 South Portland Avenue, the 13-story Hanson Place Community Plaza development features 87 affordable apartments, according to the listing on NYC Housing Connect.
Forty-four of these units are reserved for households that earn between 50%-60% of the Area Median Income (AMI), with income limits ranging from $34,149 to $105,060 depending on the family size, according to the development listing.
The other 43 lottery-applicable apartments have been developed specifically for households that make 140% of the AMI.
Designed by architectural firm OCV Architects, the building will have a mix of studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Rents start at $910 per month.
Each home comes equipped with numerous energy-efficient appliances, air conditioning, and intercoms. Residents will also have access to a slew of amenities such as bike storage, a shared laundry room, and a rooftop terrace.
The building will also feature a multi-purpose room, a medical center, several conference rooms, as well as office and retail spaces.
Lottery applications for the Fort Greene development will be open until February 14.
