A new natural wine and chicken bar is slated to open at 549 Classon Avenue in Bedford Stuyvesant, reports Eater.
The team behind Bed-Stuy's Hart's and Cuervo's on the Lower East Side, consisting of owners Leah Campbell, Nialls Fallon, Nick Perkins and chef-partner Katie Jackson, is gearing up to open their new location "The Fly" during the first week of February. The restaurateurs are taking over the space that previously was occupied by the farm-to-table restaurant and grocer Alice's Arbor which shuttered in 2018.
Named after one of Hart's signature cocktails, The Fly will focus on rotisserie chicken, as well as an eclectic selection of natural wines -- wines which are farmed organically and made without adding or removing anything in the cellar. The drink menu will also include beers and cocktails.
The 70-seat eatery, designed by Russell Perkins, one of the owner's brothers, will feature a bar made of tile and metal in the restaurant's center with booths nearby for additional seating. A second room in the back of the restaurant will provide ample space for larger groups.
The Fly will be open five nights at first, with plans to add expanded hours later, the team announced.
The acclaimed restaurant team opened Hart's in 2016 and followed up with Cervo's in 2017. Both have gained great notoriety for their standout wine selections and being hip scenes. In 2017, Bon Appetit named Hart's as one of the best new restaurants in America.
