4-ft Alligator Recovered from Brooklyn’s Prospect Park Lake, Found Freezing to Death

Meghan Lalor, a rep for the Parks Department, said the reptile was likely an unwanted pet whose owner decided to release it in public waters.

A lethargic, cold-shocked 4-foot-long alligator was hauled from Brooklyn’s Prospect Park Lake early Sunday near an area popular with kiddies, officials and passers-by said.

“It’s totally unexpected,” said Joseph Puleo, vice president of District Council 37, which reps the city park workers who ended up pulling the gator out of the water. To read more click here.
