Police said it happened near West 15th Street and Mermaid Avenue on Coney Island around 9:15 pm. The suspect allegedly approached the 60-year-old victim and then pepper sprayed and punched her, according to authorities. Police said the woman’s purse, cellphone and $400 were stolen.
