The gunfire erupted around 2:33am at the intersection of Bergen Street and Howard Avenue. According to police, the woman was shot in the back and was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The 34-year-old man was shot once in the abdomen and was transported by private means to Kings County Hospital. He is expected to survive. The woman was identified as Sofronie Hartzog, 33, of Gravesend, Brooklyn - a mother of five children. More on this from ABC 7 Eyewitness News.
