Traffic was severely disrupted while police rescued a woman from the Brooklyn Bridge on Wednesday night.

All eastbound lanes were temporarily closed as officers worked to remove a 31-year-old woman from a beam above the roadway on the bridge, according to officials. Video showed police secured to a railing with straps, slowly escorting the woman off the beam. She was taken to Woodhull Hospital. Eastbound lanes have since reopened to traffic. It's not clear yet on why the she scaled the bridge. More on this from ABC 7 Eyewitness News.
