Teens Stabbed After Bushwick Puerto Rican Day Parade

A community celebration in Bushwick ended on a somber note Sunday night, just hours after the neighborhood wrapped up its 7th annual Puerto Rican Day Parade.

Police say two teenage boys were stabbed around 8:00pm near Suydam Street and Knickerbocker Avenue, right across from Maria Hernandez Park after the Brooklyn Puerto Rican Day Parade, which ran from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Video shows crowds earlier in the day waving Puerto Rican flags, dancing and enjoying music up and down Knickerbocker Avenue. It was a smaller, more local version of the larger Puerto Rican Day Parade held in Manhattan, but just as full of energy and pride. More on this from News 12 Brooklyn.
