Teen Subway Death: MTA Driver Applied Emergency Brakes to Prevent Casualties

The other teens were unharmed.

A 16-year-old girl was with a group of people in a subway tunnel when she was fatally struck by a train in Brooklyn Tuesday, an MTA source said. The girl was hit and killed by a subway train near the 4th Avenue-9th Street station in Park Slope around 5:10 pm. The train operator saw a group of four to five “kids” running on the catwalk in the tunnel and applied the emergency brakes, the MTA source said.
