One Injured, 25 Migrants Displaced in Flatbush Fire

The FDNY Fire Marshals Unit is investigating the cause of the fire.

A fire left one person injured and 25 migrants displaced following a fire in Brooklyn on Tuesday morning. At just after 8:35 a.m. on February 13, firefighters from Engine Company 255 and Tower Ladder 157 arrived to fire heavy fire blowing out the third-floor window of a mixed-use building at 1447 Flatbush Avenue during the city’s first significant snowfall in two years. Fire Department personnel deployed two hose lines to knock down the main body of the fire. Most of the residents that were displaced were French-speaking migrants, many of whom were seen outside wrapped in blankets to stay warm. Click here to read more on amny.com.
