An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested and charged with assault and harassment in Brooklyn Sunday, police said. Avijit Boiragee, 33, was arrested just before 4 am in Brooklyn’s 61st Precinct, which covers Sheepshead Bay and part of Gravesend, according to the NYPD. Police could not share any details about Boiragee’s arrest. Boiragee started working as a police officer in 2021 and he most recently worked in Brooklyn, city records show.
