Divers from the NYPD and FDNY were unable to find a person who was spotted in the water by Steeplechase Pier along the Coney Island boardwalk on Wednesday. According to the FDNY, the person was spotted in the water just before 3pm on Wednesday. The NYPD said that the person who went into the water was a male. News 12 spotted up to six divers at the scene searching for the person in the water. Police say that multiple witnesses observed him jumped off the pier and that they were unable to locate the body.
