City Builds Secure Delivery Lockers to Safeguard Against Package Theft

LockerNYC has five setups in Brooklyn and Queens.

New York City has installed delivery lockers on sidewalks in select locations in the city in an effort to prevent package thefts. New York City launched the LockerNYC pilot program on Wednesday. The free program aims to allow New Yorkers to more easily receive secure package deliveries. “New Yorkers have had thousands of dollars worth of items taken from their apartments, their lobbies, out front on their porches. We want to tackle the problem head-on,” Mayor Eric Adams said. The pilot program will include seven units, each with the capacity to securely hold 25 packages at a time, according to city officials.
