A New Jersey man was arrested in connection with a box truck hit-and-run that killed a woman in Bushwick, authorities say. William Cruz is accused of striking 29-year-old Jenny Maribel Chacho Sanchez with the truck just before 8:30am on April 17 as she was crossing Gates Avenue, just a block from her home. Investigators say Cruz, 49, of Carteret, was driving the truck northbound on Saint Nicholas Street when he made a left-hand turn onto Gates Avenue, where Chacho Sanchez was crossing.
