Man Wounded in Starrett City Shooting

Locals said shootings were uncommon in the neighborhood.

Brooklyn police are investigating a shooting outside a popular gymnasium on Saturday night in Starrett City. Officers from the 75th Precinct rushed to the Brooklyn Sports Club at 1540 Van Siclen Ave., at around 10:07 p.m. on February 3 after gunfire erupted outside the building, according to authorities. Responding officers found a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the right arm. EMS rushed the victim to Brookdale University Hospital, where he is expected to survive.
