Man Rescued From East River by NYPD

A 911 call was received around 1:03pm on Nov. 30 about a person in the water near Furman and Montague Streets.

NYPD officers dove into the freezing waters of a busy section of the East River to rescue a man struggling to reach the Brooklyn shoreline, according to authorities. A 911 call was received around 1:03pm on Nov. 30 about a person in the water near Furman Street and Montague Street, across the river from Manhattan’s Pier 11, where dozens of ferries dock and depart each day, according to the NYPD.
