Man Arrested For Allegedly Starting Fires at NYCHA Apartments

The Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office will prosecute the case.

A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with a string of arson fires in NYCHA developments, the FDNY announced Thursday. Unique Cherry was charged with arson and criminal mischief, among other charges. Cherry was identified as a suspect in a fire at 1430 Bergen St. in Brooklyn in January, officials say.
