The Brooklyn District Attorney's Office says an FDNY fire marshal has been arraigned after he allegedly shot himself in the foot with an illegal gun at the FDNY Headquarters. James Beringer, 52, is accused of discharging the gun on March 27 while he was on duty at 9 Metrotech Center in Downtown Brooklyn. Prosecutors say Beringer was allegedly sitting on a table in the office/computer room, just before 8:00am, when another fire marshal, Malik Grisset, heard Beringer yell out, "I shot myself in the foot."
