Federal Correction Officer Sentenced for Civil Rights Violations, Firearm Offenses

Back on September 4, 2023, it was reported that Wilson while on duty chased a civilian car out of the Metropolitan Detention Center.

Former correctional officer Leon Wilson was sentenced to 200 months for depriving an individual of his constitutional rights and using a firearm during a crime of violence. Wilson was convicted back in October 2025 on both counts of the indictment. Back on September 4, 2023, it was reported that Wilson while on duty chased a civilian car out of the Metropolitan Detention Center. He chased the civilian car to the edge of the Brooklyn Bridge. It was reported that during the chase Wilson exceeded speeding limits, passed other cars and ran red lights. More on this from News 12 Brooklyn.
