The New York City Fire Department responded to a fire at 1203 Newkirk Ave. in Midwood on Saturday.
Approximately 60 firefighters and EMS personnel operated on scene, according to FDNY via X. Units arrived within minutes and encountered fire showing from a second-floor window.
“Units pulled up and witnessed fire out a second-floor window," said Deputy Chief Mike Kirwin. "The first-due truck company removed two people from the second floor via the aerial ladder, and several more occupants were removed via the interior. Engine companies stretched two hand lines and extinguished the fire on the second floor."
The incident was placed under control in approximately 50 minutes and FDNY Fire Marshals are working to determine the cause of the fire.
