Another sinkhole has opened up in New York City, this time swallowing a dump truck in Brooklyn, according to the FDNY. The sinkhole on Thursday was reported near 1864 51st St. in Mapleton at around noon, the fire department said. Fire officials say the New York City Department of Transportation and Con Edison are investigating the scene. A 10-foot sinkhole also forced the partial closure of the Long Island Expressway in Melville last week, as well as another sinkhole that closed a portion of the East River Esplanade in April.
