Attorney General Leticia James says a Brooklyn man carried out a forged temporary license plate scheme. James says Tyheem Evans sold over 50 plates throughout New York and across state lines, charging up to $210 per plate. Between April 2022 and Sept. 2023, the 28-year-old advertised the 30, 60 and 90-day temporary plates and carried out the sales using Instagram, under the handle @DMVTemps, according to investigators.
