4 Hurt, Including 2 Firefighters, in Red Hook Apartment Building Fire

Before sunrise, a quiet Red Hook morning turned into a race to get residents safely out of danger.

Four people were injured, including two firefighters, in a Brooklyn apartment building fire early Thursday. The fire broke out just after 5:00am in the Red Hook East Housing Development off of Columbia Street. The flames were extinguished about an hour and a half later, but firefighters were still searching inside the building. Two residents were taken to the hospital.
