2 Dead, Firefighter Injured in Crown Heights Apartment Fire

The blaze broke out on Kingston Avenue, sending heavy smoke through the building before firefighters brought it under control.

Two people are dead after a fire burned through an apartment in Crown Heights late Monday night. Fire broke out on the third floor of an apartment building at 446 Kingston Ave. just before 11:05pm. Firefighters rushed to control the blaze as heavy smoke spread through the apartment building. An 80-year-old woman and 59-year-old man were taken to Kings County Hospital, where they were pronounced dead. More on this from ABC 7 Eyewitness News.
