11 People Escape Sinking Boat in Brooklyn

Eleven people escaped a sinking boat near Sheepshead Bay on Wednesday night, with most climbing to safety via ladders and one rescued by firefighters, officials said.

Some 11 people escaped a sinking boat near Sheepshead Bay Wednesday evening, officials said. Video posted to Citizen shows the boat tipping into the water around 9:30pm near East 26th Street and Emmons Avenue. Fire officials can be seen removing one passenger as others look on from a pier. Ten of the passengers were able to exit the boat via ladders, according to the NYPD. More on this from Pix 11.
