NYC Health + Hospitals has named Dr. Mason B. Pimsler as its system-wide awardee for Doctor’s Day, recognizing his impact at Lincoln Hospital alongside his broader contributions to patient care across New York City.
Dr. Pimsler is an attending physician in ambulatory care. He serves patients within one of the city’s busiest public hospital settings, where care is often delivered to individuals who are low-income or uninsured.
His work reflects a commitment to equitable healthcare, with an emphasis on improving access to services, maintaining continuity of care and providing compassionate treatment to patients in high-need communities, officials said.
The recognition highlights his achievements and contributions within the system, as well as his role in the day-to-day work of treating and caring for patients. His efforts align with the mission of the city’s public health network, which focuses on delivering comprehensive medical services regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.
Lincoln Hospital remains a key part of the city’s safety-net system, serving a diverse patient population with a wide range of medical and social needs. Physicians in this setting are often required to address not only clinical conditions but also barriers that can affect long-term health outcomes, including limited access to consistent care.
Dr Mason is expected to be formally honored on April 28 during the annual Doctor’s Day Celebration, which recognizes physicians across the network for their service, leadership and dedication to patient care.
