Farmers markets make fresh fruits and vegetables more accessible for patients, visitors, staff and the larger community

Brooklyn residents can once again shop for fresh fruits and vegetables at seasonal farmers markets operating at two NYC Health + Hospitals facilities through November.

NYC Health + Hospitals announced the start of its 2026 farmers market season, with markets returning to NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health and NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. Both locations are operated by Harvest Home and are open to the public.

The market at South Brooklyn Health, located at 2567 Ocean Pkwy, is open Fridays from 8:00am to 3:00pm through Nov. 20. The Kings County market, located on Clarkson Avenue, between East 37th and East 38th Streets, operates Wednesdays from 8:00am to 3:00pm through Nov. 25.

The markets are intended to expand access to fresh, locally grown produce while providing affordable food options for Brooklyn residents. Community members can purchase fruits and vegetables close to home and use several payment methods and nutrition assistance programs.

In addition to cash and credit cards, the markets accept Electronic Benefit Transfer and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, commonly known as SNAP. Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons and Women, Infants and Children vouchers are also accepted, helping older adults and families stretch their food budgets while purchasing fresh produce.
