The New York registration deadline to vote in the November 6 midterm elections is coming up this Friday, October 12, and New Yorkers have one less excuse not to sign up.

NYC residents now can begin the registration process on LinkNYC kiosks throughout the five boroughs, the city announced. Additionally, LinkNYC kiosks are currently running two campaigns to remind New Yorkers of the looming registration deadline displaying a countdown clock until the voter registration deadline and stats showing how many people in the surrounding district of the LinksNYC kiosk have registered to vote.

And New Yorkers concerned about entering personal information into the kiosk can rest assured: Your privacy stays protected thanks to an encrypted private WiFi network, any information you enter is anonymized.

Those hoping to sign up should have their New York State driver's license, permit or non-driver ID handy. To register to vote in New York City, you must be a U.S. citizen, a New York City resident for at least 30 days and 18 years of age on Election day.
