Afropunk Looks, 2023: Fever and Flavor

The annual celebration features some of the most edgy up-and-coming, underground and aboveground acts in Black music across the country.

This past week, Afropunk Festival was back in Brooklyn-- but this time, with allll the flavor and none of the fat.

Big changes took place last year and this year, most notably, the ownership of the festival and the venue. For the first time in more than a decade since its debut at Commodore Barry Park, the festival moved to Greenpoint. And-- based on the layout, the waterfront view of the city and the overall vibe-- the decision was a great one!

The annual celebration features some of the most edgy up-and-coming, underground and aboveground acts in Black music across the country. This year, that included  Iniko, Joey Badass, Vince Staples and Teyana Taylor, just to name a few.

The festival is also renowned for drawing out some of the flyest fashion in the city, just ahead of New York Fashion Week.

Take a look at some of our favorite Afropunk 2023 images that gave us fever!
