Five residential developments are moving forward in Park Slope and Gowanus, bringing new rental apartments, townhouses and commercial space to the two neighborhoods, according to YIMBY.

The projects range from a nearly completed apartment building to proposed developments awaiting construction schedules.

The developments are located at 263 Prospect Ave., 403-405 Fifth Ave., 300-306 Sixth Ave. and 435 Second St., 500 Third Ave., and 244-246 Seventh St. The sites are within walking distance of subway services at Fourth Avenue-Ninth Street and Union Street.

The largest project nearing completion is The Grand Prospect at 263 Prospect Ave. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Angelo and George Rigas, the five-story building will provide 150 rental apartments, with one- to three-bedroom layouts.

Planned amenities include a fitness center, golf simulator, children's playroom, business suite, pet spa, rooftop lounge and parking garage. Landscaping and sidewalks are complete, with interior work and the entrance nearing completion.

The projects represent continued residential development across the two neighborhoods, including the redevelopment of former commercial and institutional properties. Their proximity to public transportation is also a key feature for prospective residents.

At 403-405 Fifth Ave., demolition is underway ahead of a five-story mixed-use building with 12 apartments and ground-floor retail. Completion is anticipated in spring 2028.

Five four-story townhouses are planned for the former St. Matthew Evangelical English Lutheran Church site at Sixth Avenue and Second Street, although construction dates have not been announced.

In Gowanus, 500 Third Ave. is planned as a six-story mixed-use building with 50 rental apartments and commercial space.

Meanwhile, the proposed 15-story development at 244-246 Seventh St. will include 85 rental apartments and ground-floor commercial space.

Exact timelines remain unconfirmed for the three latter projects. Further progress updates, including construction schedules and architectural renderings, are expected as the developments advance.
