The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. announced on Friday it will begin servicing the small businesses of Kings County.
Founded by its chairman John L. Scott, LIAACC's mission is to advance and promote economic development and advance responsive government and quality education for small businesses in Long Island and now including the counties of Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Kings.
"LIAACC believes that Kings County will significantly benefit from a regional chamber of commerce of this magnitude due to the significant number of African American business owners in Brooklyn," said LIAACC President Phil Andrews.
Andrews added, the Chamber will benefit its member network in all of its expanded areas, while serve as a hub of trade."
LIAACC 's new Brooklyn Director is LaShawn Allen Muhammad who will be spearheading all efforts geared toward introducing business owners in its member network to the process of Minority Business Certification while attracting additional members to the Chamber that have a desire to be certified as minority business owners.
LIAACC 's monthly Business Card Exchange and Breakfast Series is designed to help facilitate trade and foster business growth through a variety of channels such as networking events, informational sessions, access to capital and technical assistance.
