All Good Dispensary opened its doors on April 11 as the first legal cannabis shop in Flatbush, just steps from Brooklyn College.
Co-owned by Shannon Riley and U.S. Army veteran Sean Robinson, the dispensary held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening, according to a press release.
In addition to being the owner and CEO of All Good Dispensary, Riley is also a yoga teacher who is passionate about helping communities explore the role of cannabis in personal well-being and mindfulness. Robinson is an advocate for plant-based alternatives and has been cultivating and formulating cannabis for many years. Her advocacy was fulled by her mother's death to drug overdose.
The store features a curated selection of cannabis flower, edibles, vape pens, cartridges, hash products and specialty items all grown and manufactured in New York State.
"Wellness is at the heart of what we’re building with All Good in Flatbush," Riley said. "Our motto is Good Plants, Good People, Good Life and that’s why we’re so proud to make sure our shelves won’t be lined with corporate cannabis, but will be a place for New Yorkers to get some of the best cannabis in the world, grown by small farms and microbusinesses."
Riley said she would like to build a community around the retail shop, and one day, open a yoga studio next door.
"It’s so beautiful to have this opportunity and I can’t wait for everyone from the neighborhood to drop by and experience the curated selection of local growers we’ve got on our shelves," said Robinson.
The dispensary employs budtenders from the Flatbush neighborhood who are trained to assist both longtime cannabis users and first-time consumers.
