“Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment has built its business as an entertainment platform committed to creating elevated, innovative, and unforgettable experiences inspired by Brooklyn,” Sam Zussman, chief executive officer of Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment said in a statement. “Through our venues, sports franchises, and growing portfolio of businesses, we’ve consistently delivered dynamic experiences for our fans."

The firm purchased the retail space at One Hanson Place in for about $10 million in 2024. The former main hall of the former Williamsburgh Savings Bank has been used as an events space, including for film shoots, fashion shows and galas.

Cucina will be rooted in Italian cuisine and will also include a lounge, private dining and special event spaces on the lower level.

"One Hanson Place is a remarkable, historic setting, and with Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment, we share a clear vision for how to approach it: with the utmost respect for the landmark building, the neighborhood, and the people who will bring it to life every day," said Miky Grendene, co-founder of Casa Tua.
