Looking for a unique summertime experience?
Look no further than BrownstoneJAZZ, the Black-owned jazz club in a restored 19th-century Victorian brownstone in Bed-Stuy.
Located at 107 Macon St., the club showcases jazz artists from all over the country and transports the audience back in time. The historic setting provides a personal and intimate experience, which makes it a popular spot for couples looking to learn their jazz history.
Curator, Debbie McClain, said she encourages those of all ages to partake in the concert and uncover old-school jazz.
“The very best musical sound was created, performed and heard in houses,” said McClain. “The natural acoustics makes it amazing to listen from. We're not Carnegie Hall but BrownstoneJAZZ is working.”
BrownstoneJAZZ conducts concerts Fridays through Sundays, with tickets starting at $38 per person. The concerts are for ages 21 and up, and guests are encouraged to bring their own beverages.
