The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition will open three new exhibitions on Saturday, July 19, offering a diverse and energetic showcase at its Red Hook gallery.
Amped!!! The Art of Rock & Roll, is a national juried exhibition celebrating the power, spirit and cultural legacy of rock music. The show features work that reflects rock’s impact on art, identity and society, highlighting everything from iconic imagery to bold reinterpretations.
Brooklyn X Pittsburgh: The Industry of Art, presented in partnership with Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, includes work by Pittsburgh and Brooklyn artists with ties to the Steel City. The exhibition highlights the industrial heritage shared by both cities and explores how these histories have fueled new art scenes. More than 130 works will be transported from Pittsburgh for the show.
Elements of Movement, the BWAC members show, centers on interpretations of motion in art. Members explore movement through subject, gesture, form, color, shape and perspective, creating an energetic and varied display across media.
All three exhibitions will be on view weekends from 1:00pm to 6:00pm through Sunday, Aug. 24, at the BWAC Gallery, located at 481 Van Brunt St.
