Brooklyn USA Sports and The Coney announced that registration is now open for a free, five-week basketball clinic and tournament taking place every Saturday at Kaiser Park in Coney Island.
This is the second time the two groups have combined to host this event. This past year’s program saw 511 attendees participate in the free instructional program that culminates in a tournament, according to a press release.
“We are incredibly excited to bring The Coney Basketball Clinic and Tournament back to Coney Island and do so in a way that is free for all kids from Pre-K to 12th grade to attend,” said Brooklyn USA Sports Director Thomas Sicignano said. “I want to thank The Coney for stepping up again to support this program and helping make sure there are accessible youth activities taking place this summer in Coney Island.”
The Brooklyn USA Sports basketball program has produced 18 NBA players, including six from Coney Island, and more than 1,000 college-level basketball players during its long-storied history, the press release said.
The program will feature activities for all age groups in addition to a dedicated division for children with special needs.
The clinic will take place in Kaiser Park at 2529 Neptune Ave. every Saturday at 10am and will run fromJuly 27 through August 24.
