Join Brooklyn’s thriving ceramic community for the second annual Brooklyn Ceramic Arts Tour (BCAT) from May 17 to 19. 

Local artists, studios, galleries, and businesses across the borough will open their doors to the public for free exhibitions, workshops, demonstrations, artist talks, and sales, according to a news release. 

BCAT aims to promote Brooklyn’s diverse and growing ceramics community. The weekend tour allows visitors to learn more about clay, experience it firsthand and get to know the vast community of ceramic markers that live and work in the borough.

Event highlights include: 

  • BARRO in Brooklyn, Latin American in Clay Exhibition at One Eyed Studios, in Bushwick
  • Chronic Clay: A Celebration of Ceramics and Cannabis, including a pipe making workshop at A.MANO Brooklyn in Prospect Heights
  • Ceramics at The Brooklyn Circus: Keeping it local at The Brooklyn Circus in Boerum Hill
  • The Feminine Urge, concepts of femininity through art at BK Here in Williamsburg
  • Hand + Build, hand-building workshop & exhibition at The Makers Guild in Industry City
  • Got a Light? Ceramic candle holders, luminaries, sconces and electric lighting at XOLO in Williamsburg
  • Queer Clay, work from LGBTQ+ ceramists at Principles GI Coffee Shop in Gowanus
  • Water Retention: The tough love between flowers and their vessels, hosted by Fell Flowers at Sycamore Bar & Flower Shop in Flatbush
  • Brunch, wheel-throwing, hand-building and glazing workshops at Williamsburg Charter High School in Bushwick
