The 9th Annual Kingsland Wildflowers Festival will take place on Saturday, July 26, celebrating ecology, art and community with an afternoon of immersive performances, installations and workshops.
The free event, from 2:00pm to 7:00pm at 520 Kingsland Ave., is a way for Kingsland Wildflowers, together with NOoSPHERE Arts, to celebrate the 25,000- square-foot green roof pollinator garden set on top of an active film studio in Greenpoint's industrial zone.
The festival’s musical lineup features New York City-based group Pinc Louds, known for blending punk, crooner vocals and Caribbean influences. They will perform on the Sunset Stage.
Lucy Livingston, a queer performance and design artist, will debut a clown piece titled Flower Fun! developed in collaboration with director Bailey Nassetta.
Cie. Petra Zanki, recipient of NOoSPHERE Arts’ inaugural Dance Residency Award, will showcase Murmurations, a work-in-progress dance performance. The choreography, inspired by the flocking patterns of birds, explores themes of connection, power and movement.
There will also be an interactive sound installation, a printing workshop, a video screening and an eco workshop for children.
Food and drinks will be provided by Healthy as a Motha, The Shack, Mariana Tamiozzy, Brooklyn Brewery, Yerba Madre, Good Mood Kombucha.
The festival is free and open to the public, offering a chance to connect with art and nature from rooftop to meadow. For more information and to RSVP, click here.
