British singer-songwriter Rita Ora will preform at a free concert on July 11 in Brooklyn Bridge Park during The Hill in New York, a three-day Wimbledon finals viewing event.
The All England Lawn Tennis Club, which stages The Championships, Wimbledon, said it is setting up a large TV screen so tennis fans can watch the final matches outside from Friday, July 11 to Sunday, July 13, all in a quintessential 'tennis in an English garden' setting, complete with signature florals, strawberries and cream, freshly baked scones and traditional fish and chips.
The weekend-long celebrations kicks off with an opening night concert on July 11 headlined by Ora to about 5,000 people at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Grounds will open at 6.00pm for ticketed fans.
“As someone who has had the privilege to experience the magic of the Wimbledon finals first hand, I am thrilled to help bring that one-of-a-kind energy of The Championships to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge Park in New York," Ora said in a satement. "It’s going to be an incredible celebration of world-class tennis from across the pond. Get ready for some HEAT!”
